The Tianjin Juilliard MDP Instrumental Instruction is a one-to-one instrumental training program taught weekly by the Tianjin Juilliard School teachers, focusing on building exceptional instrumental skills in young students, currently offering piano, violin, viola and cello lessons. 

Instrumental lessons is part of the Music Development Program, offering students an enhanced connection to music and the opportunities to study with the Tianjin Juilliard teachers, listen to master classes and perform on the Tianjin Juilliard stages. For students who wish to further pursue music as a professional career, the MDP Instrumental Instruction also offers a unique pathway that links to the Tianjin Juilliard Pre-College.

This program is available to students aged 5 to 18 years who have an interest in music study and have reached an advanced beginner (or higher) level on their instruments. 

The Instrumental Instruction program is committed to fostering the following skills and promoting an organic integration between them through class teaching, rehearsals and performances.

The MDP Instrumental Instruction is delivered by an internationally-minded teachers that endorsed by the Tianjin Juilliard School.

One of the unique features of the Music Development Program is that students will have many performance opportunities after rehearsals, including performing on Tianjin Juilliard’s stages in order to test the effectiveness of class teaching and rehearsals, gain performance experience, and achieve cultural exchange across ages, instruments, and countries. 

Lessons take place at The Tianjin Juilliard School campus on Sundays and during the week after school. 

The hourly fee is 1000 RMB (for 60 minutes). Students can sign up for a 15-lesson package valid for 5 months.

• Recent performance videos of two contrasting pieces

*two pieces in contrasting styles by different composers. A fast and slow movement from the same sonata are acceptable.
