Video Producer


The Tianjin Juilliard School seeks an experienced Video Producer to bring Juilliard’s mission to a global audience by expanding the school’s digital presence in China and beyond. This Tianjin-based position is responsible for planning and producing videos for The Tianjin Juilliard School’s digital platforms. A storyteller at heart, this individual will lead video content creation and partner with departments internally to create digital assets in support of institutional marketing goals including brand awareness, education, recruitment, and more. 

Tianjin Juilliard’s content is focused primarily on music education and performance. This individual should have experience producing video content that will be seen on an international level, bring a passion for building cultural understanding through nuanced intercultural communications, and represent the school’s vision and values. Consistent communication and collaboration with colleagues from both New York and Tianjin campuses will be critical to the success of this position.



  • Identify opportunities for video shoots; lead video scheduling and a calendar to manage multiple deadlines; discuss project needs and requests from relevant departments and colleagues
  • Lead and manage the planning of creative work involved in video production from start to end
  • Lead and manage video shooting projects in all aspects, including workflow planning, itinerary management, liaison with staff, faculty, students, and guest artists
  • Develop and maintain video best practices, in alignment with Juilliard’s video standards
  • Step in as video director, videographer, or other key roles, as necessary to complete a production
  • Liaise and supervise video freelancers or vendors on projects, providing quality assurance and managing consistency
  • Track video projects according to project goals and timelines and report back to the Marketing team in a timely manner
  • Organize and archive video footage after projects are completed; manage the website’s media gallery
  • Advise on equipment purchase, installation, and maintenance; have experience assessing technology to meet needs of multimedia production



  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in video production and editing, and multimedia content production
  • Proficiency in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Creative Suite, including expertise in Adobe Premier, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Audition, or equivalent audio editing software
  • Experience with Sony cameras 
  • Proficient in storyboarding, script writing, and a good understanding of audio recording
  • Excellent organization skills and a track record of managing multiple schedules and tight deadlines efficiently and effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal qualities, detail oriented and proactive in executing projects
  • The ability to represent the Tianjin Juilliard brand well in all aspects of the job, through an insistence on extremely high quality in all digital media content created 
  • A team player with a positive, “can-do” attitude, indicated by an ability to work effectively with professionals, students, guest artists, administrators, and external partners from different backgrounds and cultures
  • Working experience with social media
  • Bilingual (English and Mandarin); Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for the performing arts
