Brass Quintet

Submitted by Yu.Ma@tianjinj… on

Bringing together the School’s brass faculty, Lee Allen (trombone), Xiaoguang Han (horn), Sheng Qiu (trumpet), Sergey Tyuteykin (trumpet), and Brett Stemple (tuba), the ensemble explores the rich tradition and exciting possibilities of brass chamber music. Shaped by the distinct voices and shared experience of its members, the group reflects Tianjin Juilliard’s commitment to bringing performance and pedagogy together.

Tianjin Juilliard Brass Quintet performs at the Tianjin Juilliard Ensemble Concert in September 2026.

The Tianjin Juilliard Brass Quintet will perform Anthony Plog’s Four Sketches for Brass Quintet at Tianjin Juilliard Concert Hall on Friday, March 26, 2027, and at Xinghai Concert Hall on March 31, 2027. Explore more on the Performance Calendar page.

The ensemble is a wonderful opportunity to bring our faculty together as musicians and to share our passion for chamber music. As teachers, we spend so much time focusing on developing our students, but it is equally important for them to see us performing, collaborating, and continuing to push ourselves on stage. We hope the ensemble will become an important part of the musical life of the school.
