As we look forward to the new 2023-24 academic year and performance season, Tianjin Juilliard will offer tuba as an instrument in the Instrumental and Orchestral Studies program, fulfilling essential academic and artistic needs in our curriculum and concerts. Starting this fall, the Office of Admissions will accept graduate studies applications for tuba.

With this exciting addition to the program, we are delighted to announce that Brett Stemple will join Tianjin Juilliard's stellar teaching roster as an adjunct faculty in tuba. Throughout the year, Brett Stemple will share his invaluable expertise as an experienced brass ensemble coach, and perform with our flagship faculty ensemble, the Tianjin Juilliard Ensemble. At the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory in Singapore, Stemple serves as the head of brass and percussion, and is the vice dean of ensembles, research and professional awareness.

In 2021, Tianjin Juilliard and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory in Singapore (YST) signed an MOU to deepen collaboration. The two institutions have recently renewed the MOU to continue working together in the areas of performance, teaching, and curriculum development. Tianjin Juilliard partners with peer institutions to encourage academic and musical exchanges, offering our students and faculty numerous opportunities to participate in joint performances, programs, artist training, and more. Stemple's appointment and the renewed YST partnership commitment is another significant milestone in Tianjin Juilliard's strategic roadmap for partnerships.
