Program Overview

The Tianjin Juilliard Vocal Institute aims to create a unique ecosystem in which practitioners, students and aficionados of the vocal arts can enjoy the customized well-rounded learning experience; learn, appreciate and promote the art form from grassroots to professional levels in China.

Leveraging The Tianjin Juilliard School's first-rate teaching and performance resources, and nexus of world-class artist-teachers, the Vocal Institute focuses on the following pillars of programs and activities:

Stellar Roster of Artist-Teachers

The Vocal Institute invites a consortium of singers, voice teachers, coaches, and stage directors working in the world’s most important opera houses such as Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Covent Garden, Vienna State Opera, Opera Bastille, Berlin State Opera, among others: Norah Amsellem, Lydia Brown, Laurie Feldman, Katharine Goeldner, Ying Huang, Martin Katz, Craig Rutenberg, Guang Yang and Zhengzhong Zhou.  


Nurturing Home-Grown Talents

The Vocal Institute nurtures home-grown talents by showcasing them as the “Tianjin Juilliard Vocal Institute Singers” in performances both at Tianjin Juilliard and in venues throughout China. In addition to supporting and training professional performers and teachers of singing, the Vocal Institute continually brings the beauty of vocal arts to wider audiences of all ages and levels. With a deep commitment to educating children and young people, the Vocal Institute employs multifaceted formats and innovative programming to broaden its influence and outreach, further amplifying its social impact through the magical human voice.
