This summer, The Tianjin Juilliard School returns to the stage with our flagship music festival, Summer Sounds, celebrating music and the performing arts in the vibrant city of Tianjin. Committed to public engagement, Tianjin Juilliard brings music to audiences of all ages through our Summer Camps for young musicians and the return of our highly anticipated free Outdoor Concert Series, enjoyed by multi-generational families and music lovers alike. As an oasis for the arts, we build bridges that nurture strong communities. This season, Tianjin Juilliard is pleased to host the Asian Youth Orchestra on campus for a second year and to continue connecting people from around the world through the Tianjin Juilliard Piano Festival — a groundbreaking two-week event featuring world-renowned international artists and unique opportunities for young pianists. Come together at Tianjin Juilliard for a captivating experience to remember!
Taking place from July 14 to August 1, 2025, The Tianjin Juilliard Public Education Music Summer Camps return with a brand-new season, offering three themes — Violin, Percussion, and Piano — led by world-class faculty. Designed for young music learners aged 6–16, the camp provides an immersive and inspiring experience filled with joy and discovery. This year’s camps will be held on the Tianjin Juilliard campus and includes opportunities to observe rehearsals of the Asian Youth Orchestra.
This July, the award-winning Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) returns to Tianjin Juilliard for its annual summer festival, before embarking on a four-week, 16-concert tour across Asia. On August 3, AYO will perform a concert at the TJS Concert Hall to kick off its 35th anniversary tour. Featuring over 100 talented young musicians from 10 Asian regions, led by principal conductor Joseph Bastian, the program includes Roydon Tse’s Illuminate (commissioned by AYO), Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.3 with pianist George Li, and Mahler’s Symphony No.5.
The Tianjin Juilliard Piano Festival takes place this August 3 to 17, offering two weeks of rich and inspiring programs featuring a stellar line-up of artists and provides participants with invaluable experience working alongside internationally renowned pianists and teachers through master classes, lectures, private lessons, and performances, including the exclusive opportunity of performing concertos with the world renowned Shanghai Quartet. Selected participant will have the opportunity to be featured as a soloist with the Asian Youth Orchestra on its 2026 tour. For the first time, this year’s festival partners with artist faculty to offer piano teacher workshops, sharing valuable insights and experiences from working with students of all levels.
In the summer, Tianjin Juilliard’s campus transforms into a welcoming hub for the arts, bringing dynamic music to audiences of all ages.
