Sixian Liu holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Music Education from the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM). During her studies, she was awarded a full scholarship by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to pursue advanced studies at the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Hungary. She also holds the prestigious Dalcroze Certificate in Eurhythmics from the Institut Jaques-Dalcroze in Geneva, Switzerland.
For over a decade, Liu has dedicated herself to the research and practical application of the three major music education methodologies: Orff, Kodály, and Dalcroze. Her professional experience includes serving as a faculty member at the School of Distance Education at CCOM, where she was responsible for early childhood music education curriculum development, and teacher training. Additionally, she has held long-term teaching positions at the China National Children's Center and the China Soong Ching Ling Science & Culture Center for Young People. Teaching students aged 2 to 12, she has accumulated extensive expertise in areas including choral training, music literacy, and group instrumental instruction.
Sixian Liu joined Tianjin Juilliard’s Public Education Music Development Program faculty team in 2026.
