Xie comes from Guangxi province, has a profound affection for music. He has been learning percussion since childhood and is committed to deepening his expertise. He has studied under Professor Junfei Wu from Guangxi Arts University, Guoqing Fang the president of the Percussion Society of the Chinese Musicians' Association, Professor Gang Liu from the Central Conservatory of Music, and Professor June Hahn from The Tianjin Juilliard School.

He obtained his bachelor's degree from the Central Conservatory of Music in 2023 and was admitted to The Tianjin Juilliard School in the same year. In 2025, Xie graduated from Tianjin Juilliard with a Master of Music degree in Instrumental and Orchestral Studies, majoring in percussion. During his undergraduate years, he not only concentrated on his own academic progress, but also gained teaching experience. He offered online courses for primary and secondary school students and worked as a part-time percussion instructor in some schools in Beijing.
