A concert pianist, conductor, and educator, Dr. Yu Jin maintains a dynamic, grounded career rooted in musical excellence and pedagogy. He serves as a chamber music faculty at The Tianjin Juilliard School’s Pre-College, and as piano faculty at Shandong University of Arts. His prior appointments also include the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (2020–2022) and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (2022–2023).
Dr. Jin is a recipient of the First Prize at the 2015 Aspen Music Festival Piano Concerto Competition (USA) and the Finckel-Wu Han Chamber Music Horizon Fellowship.
A highly sought-after young pianist, he has headlined over 300 solo recitals at top Chinese venues, including Shanghai Symphony Hall, Beijing Concert Hall, and Shenzhen Concert Hall.
As a versatile conductor-soloist, he has collaborated with leading national orchestras, including the Shanghai Philharmonic, Shenzhen Symphony, and Qingdao Symphony Orchestra. His solo recording is distributed by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Audiovisual Publishing House, and he has been featured in Little Pianist, a top music education publication.
Dr. Jin holds a D.M.A. and M.M. in Piano Performance from Boston University and New England Conservatory of Music, respectively, and dual B.M. degrees in Piano Performance and Orchestral Conducting from Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He studied piano with Wha-Kyung Byun, Russell Sherman, and Professor Sun Yingdi, and conducting with Professor Zhang Guoyong.
Yu Jin joined the Tianjin Juilliard Public Education Music Development Program faculty team in 2026.
