Public EducationMusic Development Program – Horn

Yushan Luo is a passionate French horn performer and dedicated educator with extensive experience in both performance and teaching. From 2018 to 2022, she served as a horn player with the China Philharmonic Orchestra, actively participating in concerts and tours, television recordings, and international cultural exchanges. She was also involved in various chamber ensembles within the orchestra. Her artistry has been recognized by many orchestras, with guest appearances alongside the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, and Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra.

Luo has channeled her professional experience into music education. She is currently a part-time horn instructor for the wind ensembles at both Beijing Shijia Primary School and Tsinghua University. Her students have received awards at major competitions, including the Beijing Student Arts Festival, the China Youth Music Competition – Hummingbird Music Awards, and the Shenzhen International Horn Competition.

She holds a master's degree in French horn performance from the Central Conservatory of Music, where she studied under  Man Yi. During her undergraduate studies, she was selected for an exchange program at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, studying with  Ab Koster.

Beyond performance and teaching, Luo is also active in organizing music events. She has played a key role in coordinating the Beijing International Horn Festival the Yifei Congtian Horn Training Camp and contributed to the successful operation of the Shenzhen International Horn Competition.
