The safety and well-being of our Tianjin Juilliard students, faculty, and staff continues to be the top priority for The Tianjin Juilliard School leadership. Currently, there are no COVID-19 cases among our Tianjin Juilliard community members. We are continuing to monitor the evolving situation to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our community and mitigate potential risks. As a global institution, we are committed to overcoming the challenges together. Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by the outbreak in China and in other countries.
Online lessons and classes for Tianjin Juilliard Pre-College students have commenced. All in-person classes and activities for Tianjin Juilliard Pre-College remain postponed until further notice. This includes Pre-College classes, Community Youth Chorus rehearsals, and lessons through the Public Education Division.
The application for the Pre-College class of 2020 is open, with audition invitations coming shortly.
Graduate Studies regional auditions are ongoing with recent auditions in New York, Paris, and San Francisco. All in-person admissions-related activities within Asia will be postponed until further notice; however, applicants affected by travel restrictions can complete their auditions with video recordings. Tianjin Juilliard concerts in Tianjin and Beijing in March are postponed until further notice.
Travel Restrictions and General Guidelines
The Tianjin Juilliard School is following the recommendations and measures for prevention and control of COVID-19 including travel restrictions, as provided by the Government of Tianjin Municipality and the Tianjin Municipality Education Commission as well as The Juilliard School in New York. In addition, The Juilliard School and The Tianjin Juilliard School are closely monitoring the updates issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) as well as international travel restrictions in place by airlines and countries.
Apart from the public community updates, we remain in contact with all of our students, faculty, and staff through multiple platforms including email, video conferencing, online meetings, and more. Faculty and staff in China have been working remotely from home until further notice as we aim to keep our community healthy. We are in constant communication with our Pre-College students and their families to notify them on updates and dates pertaining to their academic schedules. Our Office of Admissions is communicating closely with our applicants to outline the process for fulfilling application and audition requirements in light of these circumstances.

A Message from The Tianjin Juilliard School: Precautionary Measures in Response to the Novel Coronavirus
In response to the current Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak, The Juilliard School and The Tianjin Juilliard School have taken immediate action to ensure the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff in China. We are following the recommendations and measures for prevention and control of 2019-nCoV, as provided by the Government of Tianjin Municipality and the Tianjin Municipality Education Commission.
All classes and activities of Tianjin Juilliard Pre-College will be postponed until further notice, including Pre-College classes, Community Youth Chorus rehearsals, and lessons through the Public Education Division.
All in-person admissions-related activities within Asia will be postponed until March 1. We anticipate resuming in-person auditions and other activities within Asia in March, depending on the developments in the 2019-nCoV. Please refer to the Admissions section of our website for updates.
Outside of the region, Graduate Studies regional auditions are anticipated to occur in New York, Paris, and San Francisco in the month of February. We plan to take preventative steps, monitor developments, and proceed in a manner that does not pose health risks.
The safety and well-being of our Tianjin Juilliard community is of utmost concern to the Tianjin Juilliard School leadership. This is an evolving situation which we are monitoring very closely.
