We are committed to bringing The Juilliard School’s renowned programming of the highest artistic level to music enthusiasts and audiences in Tianjin and beyond.

In New York, The Juilliard School presents over 700 annual music, dance, and drama performances on its campus in Lincoln Center and beyond. Similarly, The Tianjin Juilliard School presented more than 120 public music performances in our state-of-the-art facilities annually, in addition to numerous concerts at other venues, and outreach performances in the community. We invite you to experience and enjoy world-class classical music presented by our students, faculty, and guest artists.

Festival Connect

Festival Connect highlights a different groundbreaking 20th-century composer every year and traces their legacy and influence on contemporary music. Launched in 2021, at this important annual festival, students and faculty present and premiere various works of orchestral and chamber music by featured composers. With the purpose of educating audiences on the evolution of classical music after the 20th century, this festival also offers panel discussions, master classes, and open rehearsals.

Tianjin Juilliard Piano Festival

The Tianjin Juilliard Piano Festival offers two weeks of rich and vibrant programs featuring a stellar line-up of artists and provides participants with invaluable experience working alongside internationally renowned pianists and teachers through master classes, lectures, private lessons, and performances, including the exclusive opportunity of performing concertos with orchestras and prominent conductors. With a line-up of stellar artists, the festival aims to create a world-class event for young pianists and the music-loving community to come together for an experience to remember.

Orchestra Symposium

The Tianjin Juilliard Orchestra Symposium brings together select students from 14 music conservatories from around the world, including Juilliard in New York, to participate in a weeklong intensive symposium comprising of master classes with our faculty, chamber music concerts, and a final orchestral performance embodying the international spirit of Tianjin Juilliard. Along with students from both Juilliard campuses, these students collaborate and work intensively with resident conductor Ken Lam in daily orchestral rehearsals.

Students

In addition to participating in the Tianjin Juilliard Orchestra, the Tianjin Juilliard String Orchestra, the Tianjin Juilliard Wind Orchestra and Chamber Music Ensembles, students collaborate and perform alongside resident faculty, visiting faculty, world renowned conductors, and soloists. Led by conductors from China and abroad, the Tianjin Juilliard Orchestra presents up to 8 concerts each season, performing a diverse repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary orchestral works as well as unique pieces featuring traditional Chinese instruments.

Cultural Exchanges and Partnerships

Beyond collaborative projects between the two Juilliard campuses in Tianjin and New York, Tianjin Juilliard partners with many peer institutions and major performing arts organizations to encourage academic and musical exchange, offering our students and faculty numerous opportunities to participate in joint performances, educational programs, artist training, and more. Tianjin Juilliard’s international and local partnerships include programs with the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Shanghai Orchestra Academy, and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore.
