Fire Safety
It is the policy of School the when smoke or fire is discovered, fire alarm must be sounded. The fire alarm will be the sounding of a coded signal and broadcast in several rounds. There is not a different signal to indicate if an alarm bell is a drill or an actual fire emergency.

If you discover or suspect a fire:

Press the nearest fire alarm button!

Call Public Safety at (022) 66336498

Upon hearing the alarm, students, faculty members, staff and visitors must exit the building using the nearest exit. Follow the evacuation chart posted in every room and the exit signage in corridors.

• NEVER use an elevator for evacuation.
• Close all doors and windows to prevent the spread of fire and smoke.
• Keep low to the floor to avoid smoke and toxic gases.
• Once in the stairway, proceed down/up to the first floor and exit the building. Move away from the building and gather at the assembly point for head counting, out of the way of firefighters and other emergency personnel.
• Do not attempt or allow student or personnel to re-enter the building for any reason, until you are authorized to do so.
• If you are a person requiring assistance, contact Public Safety Office or call 119 for assistance.

No Smoking

• The School is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is not permitted on School property.

How to Use a Fire Extinguisher

It’s easy to remember how to use a fire extinguisher if you can remember the acronym PASS, which stands for PULL, AIM, SQUEEZE and SWEEP.

• Pull the Pin, this will allow you to discharge the extinguisher.
• Aim at the base of the fire, if you aim at the flames (which is frequently the temptation), the extinguisher agent will fly right through and do no good. 
• Squeeze the top handle or lever, this depresses a button that releases the pressurized extinguishing agent in the extinguisher.
• Sweep from side to side, until the fire is completely out. Start using the extinguisher from a safe distance away, then move forward. Once the fire is out, keep an eye on the area in case it reignites.

Earthquake Safety
During the earthquake please follows the instruction as followed:

If you are indoors:

1.Drop, cover, and hold—take cover beside a sturdy desk, table, or bench or against an inside wall and hold on. If there is no desk or table near you, cover your face and head with your arms and crouch in an inside corner of the building.
2.Stay away from glass, windows, outside doors and walls, and anything that could fall, such as lighting fixtures and furniture.
3.If you are in bed when the earthquake strikes, stay there. Hold on and protect your head with a pillow, unless you are under a heavy light fixture that could fall. In that case, move to the nearest safe place.
4.Stay inside until the shaking stops and it is safe to go outside. Most injuries during earthquakes occur when people are hit by falling objects while entering or leaving buildings.
5.Be aware that electricity may go out or that sprinkler systems or fire alarms may turn on.
6.Do not use elevators.    

If you are outdoors:

1.Stay at an open ground area.
2.Move away from buildings, trees, streetlights, and utility wires.

Emergency Medical Transportation
The Public Safety Office also helps students with calling for an ambulance, or in the case of a contained bodily injury, taxi reservations for emergency medical transportation. 

This service is available at both the dormitories and the School buildings. Students can call the Public Safety Office any time or come to the office to ask for help. If at the dormitories, the front desk security guards are trained to help in case of both emergency and nonemergency situations.

Lockdown procedure
When violent intruders happen, if exiting the buildings is not possible for safety reasons, take refuge, preferably in a room that can be locked, follow procedure as below.

• Any person finding an armed intruder or any other immediate danger will immediately inform the Public Safety Office and help in giving the Lockdown signal in all areas of the School where there are students and staff.
• On hearing the signal, teachers will check the corridor for passing students then close and lock their classroom doors and direct students to take cover on the floor, preferably under desks or anything providing cover. Try to keep the students out of sight, and keep them quiet. Teachers will not search for missing students.
• Upon securing the classroom, teachers will also remain on the floor until further instructions are received.
• The Public Safety Office will summon assistance. When the danger has passed, the Public Safety Office will issue further instructions by word of mouth. Teachers should be prepared to evacuate their students to the outside assembly point, as directed.
