Pre-College, Ear Training

Pianist Ziyi Wang is a soloist, collaborative pianist and period instrument player. She was prize winner of several national competitions in China and won the Grand Prize in Preliminary then directly invited to perform in Imola Summer Piano Academy and Festival in Italy.

She was in the Advanced Piano Trio Program at the Cleveland Institute of Music and appeared in Béla Bartók’s Dance Suite as orchestral piano and celesta player at The Tianjin Juilliard School. Besides piano, Wang also studied Renaissance music notation and harpsichord with Dr. Peter Bennett at Case Western Reserve University.

Wang joined The Tianjin Juilliard School as a staff pianist since 2020, and as chorus assistant at Pre-College from 2020 to 2021. Later, she also started working as an Ear Training faculty at The Tianjin Juilliard Pre-College.

Born in Shenyang China, Wang started playing the piano at age six. She studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Kathryn Brown and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. Later, she earned her Master of Music degree in collaborative piano at the The Tianjin Juilliard School under the tutelage of Katherine Chu, Natalia Katyukova, and Audrey Axinn.
