2026 Music Summer Camp
Welcome to the Tianjin Juilliard Music Summer Camp!
This year’s summer camp will once again bring together faculty members of The Tianjin Juilliard School and internationally renowned artists to create a “summer music school” experience, which combines professional training with inspiring collaborative artistry, for students ages 6 to 18.
Highlights of the Program
For young music learners, experiences that effectively broaden their artistic horizons often come from face-to-face studying with artists, collaborating with peers, and immersing themselves in a vibrant musical environment.
- Faculty: All courses and activities will be led by Tianjin Juilliard faculty from Graduate Studies, Pre-College, and Public Education divisions.
- Professional Music Training: Students will benefit from daily studio classes, one-on-one lessons, and dedicated practice time designed to efficiently strengthen their musical technique.
- Comprehensive Musical Development: In addition to skill trainings, students will attend group classes focusing on musicianship, sight-singing, ear training, and music movement.
- Guest Artists: This summer camp will also feature master classes and performances by renowned educators and musicians from around the world, in collaboration with Asian Youth Orchestra and the Tianjin Juilliard Vocal Institute.
- Performance and Collaborative Music Experiences: Students will have opportunities to perform in Tianjin Juilliard’s world-class performance venues, participate in ensemble and choral rehearsals, observe orchestral rehearsals up close, and attend a variety of live concerts.
Camp Information
The 2026 Summer Camp will begin on July 12 and run for four weeks, each focusing on different instruments and musical themes. Students may select the week that best aligns with their primary musical preference.

Week 1: String and Voice

Learning Focus
This week's curriculum focuses on musical knowledge and skill trainings. Combining solfège, ear training, choral singing, and music movement courses, it aims to comprehensively improve students’ musical literacy and performance abilities.
In addition, a variety of high-level artistic activities are offered during this week, including masterclasses with international artists, concerts by faculty and guest artists, and open rehearsals of the Asian Youth Orchestra.
The voice camp will partner with the Tianjin Juilliard Vocal Institute for collaborative teaching and joint performances in a special musical production.
Week 2: Strings and Brass
Dates: July 20–24

Learning Focus
This week will feature collaborative music, alongside courses in music literacy, choral singing, and music movement.
Building on the first week’s foundation, string students will take part in more ensemble rehearsals and concert performances. Horn students will have various opportunities to learn face-to-face with world-renowned artists.
During this week, students will attend international artist masterclasses, informative faculty lectures, and observe rehearsals and educational concerts of the Asian Youth Orchestra, enhancing their professional skills and stage experience from multiple perspectives.
Week 3: Piano
Dates: July 27–31

Learning Focus
This week’s camp focuses on piano studies. Students will strengthen their piano performance techniques, take part in studio classes, and engage in in-depth communication with peers and faculty. They will also experience courses in music literacy, chorus training, and music and movement, while receiving one-on-one instruction from distinguished teachers.
In addition, students will have the opportunity to attend masterclasses led by renowned artists, join a variety of faculty lectures, and observe rehearsals and educational concerts by the Asian Youth Orchestra.
Week 4: Clarinet Workshop
Dates: August 1–6
Instrument: Clarinet
This week’s program is open only to clarinet students aged 12 and above with an advanced level of proficiency. Final admission decisions will be made by the Tianjin Juilliard faculty. Click HERE for more information.
Application
The summer camp is suitable for students with prior musical training (at least 2 years of professional learning experience) who wish to systematically enhance their overall musicianship.
Age Range: 6–18
(Voice & Harp: ages 8–18; Clarinet: minimum age 12)
