Yang Wen has been invited to significant music festivals such as European Youth Music Festival in Berlin and Moritzburg Festival. He is an active musician who performed as guest principal horn with Theater Vorpommern in Greifswal, Kammeroper Orchester Köln, China’s National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra, and WuhanPhilharmonic Orchestra. He also played with Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, South Korea Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, China Philharmonic Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra. Wen has held the position of horn faculty of Shandong University of the Arts since 2014.
Wen has served as the secretary-general and has organized the Beijing International Horn Festival since 2013. The festival invites more than 40 international horn musicians to Beijing for recitals, masterclasses and lectures. Wen was one of the founding members of China Horn Ensemble in 2015 and recorded its debut album “Horn Fusion,” under the label of Oehms Classics (Germany). The ensemble toured in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Lanzhou, Hong Kong, Bremen, Munich, and Vienna. He has also organized successful summer festivals such as Alexander International Music Festival, Summer Camp of Horn in Sanya, and Intensive Summer Horn Program in Qingdao.
Wen earned his master's degree from Hochschule für Musik Saar in Germany, studied with Xiaoming Han and Ludwig Rast. He accomplished his undergraduate study in the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, studied with Xiaoming Han and Chengxin Zhang. Before that, he studied with Fei Song in the affiliated high school of Wuhan Conservatory of Music.
