Overview
The Tianjin Juilliard School’s performer’s certificate program is offered to international and Chinese students who wish to gain further experience and hone their skills as performers. The program is offered in Instrumental Studies and Collaborative Piano.
Instrumental Studies – Open to musicians of orchestral instruments, this program will give students the opportunity to work with Tianjin Juilliard’s world-renowned orchestral studies faculty, participate in a wide array of performances from orchestras to chamber ensembles at our state-of-the-art campus in Binhai, Tianjin.
Collaborative Piano – Students will work with Tianjin Juilliard’s collaborative piano faculty on a variety of advanced skills in both vocal and instrumental collaborative piano, participate in workshops given by a roster of international experts in the collaborative piano and vocal coaching field, and develop as collaborative pianists through a wide array of practicums and performance opportunities
Program Details
Instrumental Studies
- Regular orchestral readings, rehearsals, and performances of the Tianjin Juilliard Orchestra led by Tianjin Juilliard's resident conductor and renowned guest conductors
- Ensemble classes and workshops
- Twelve lessons with studio faculty per session
- Chamber music performances (subject to group availability)
Collaborative Piano
- Two models:
- Concentration on vocal collaborative piano training with a focus on vocal and opera coaching
- Combination of instrumental and vocal collaborative piano study
- Ten lessons with studio faculty per session
- Classes in related vocal arts study and practicums
- Performance opportunities in art songs and instrumental sonatas
- Studio accompanying internships (subject to studio availability)
Program Dates
The program will be divided into two sessions, mirroring 1st semester and 2nd semester of the school.
1st Semester: August 26 – December 20, 2024
2nd Semester: January 6 – May 13, 2025
Applicants may apply to participate in one or both sessions.
Eligibility
Instrumental Studies: Applicants must have earned a BM degree and be interested in pursuing further training in the areas offered.
Collaborative Piano: Pianists who hold a master’s degree in collaborative piano and are interested in further studies in collaborative piano field may apply.
Tuition and Fees
Instrumental Studies: 54,960 RMB per semester
Collaborative Piano: 67,824 RMB per semester
- Limited scholarships are available on a cases-by-case basis
- Housing, board and travel expenses are not covered
