Overview
Music Discovery is a program designed to introduce primary school students to music from around the world through interactive lessons and activities. The Music Discovery curriculum covers a wide range of musical topics and themes, allowing students to explore music through both historical and cultural lenses, and showing how music connects people, communities, and cultures all around the world.
The coursework provides the opportunity to empathize with composers and their compositions through an immersive and multi-modal learning environment, promoting interpersonal communication through group learning and teamwork. The class challenges students to think critically and recreate diverse types of music, all leading to a lifelong interest of music learning.
Lesson Topics
Music Discovery lessons cover a variety of themes and concepts illustrating how music connects to many aspects of our lives and to communities and cultures around the world. Each lesson features performances and interviews with Tianjin Juilliard teachers and students, helping students to see classical music as a living art form.

Course Information
This program is taught in small classes for one hour a week. Lessons are mainly taught in Chinese, supplemented by English and other languages, and taught by certified teachers of the Public Education Division.
This program is designed for students aged 6 to 12 and students will be assigned in different classes based on their music level.

RMB 3,750 for 1 semester (15 hours)
