Gege Man, originally from Harbin, embarked on her musical journey at the age of 11 at the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School under the mentorship of Dongwen Shen. She later graduated with a bachelor's degree in Double Bass Performance from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music at the National University of Singapore, guided by Guennadi Mouzyka. Advancing her expertise, she pursued a Master of Music in Instrumental and Orchestral Studies at The Tianjin Juilliard School, under the guidance of DaXun Zhang.
A dedicated orchestral and chamber musician, Man has collaborated with ensembles such as the Tianjin Juilliard Orchestra, the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, and the NYO China Festival Orchestra. As a core member of the QingXin Ensemble, she has been invited to perform at prestigious events, including the opening ceremony of the Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin, the Tianjin Juilliard Piano Festival, the National Centre for the Performing Arts’ “May Festival” opening concert, and the Tianjin Juilliard Ensemble performances. Man is also a passionate music educator, committed to community building through music. She has organized and conducted classical music lectures at Tianjin University and the Tianjin Binhai New Area Library and has led outreach concert tours in rural areas in Fujian and other regions. Presently, she serves as a part-time English faculty at the Tianjin Juilliard Pre-College.
