Full-Time Viola Faculty

Responsibilities:

  • Teach applied lessons and lead weekly performance classes for both Graduate Studies Program and Pre-College  
  • Coach chamber music 
  • Lead sectional rehearsals for TJS Graduate Orchestra  
  • Play side-by-side with graduate students in chamber music and orchestra as needed 
  • Teach in a secondary area as qualified 
  • Actively recruit students 
  • Perform chamber music with colleagues as part of the TJS resident faculty ensemble  

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English (the graduate program at TJS is accredited by Middle States Commission on Higher Education, therefore all courses are taught in English) 
  • Extensive experience performing in professional Western orchestras and chamber ensembles at the highest international level  
  • Minimum 5 years of collegiate teaching experience required  
  • Entrepreneurial minded and comfortable with the uncertainties associated with a new venture
