Residence Life

The Tianjin Juilliard Residence Hall experience offers students a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that fosters development of practical life skills and independence. Residents are from all over the world, creating a multifaceted community of artists where students can enjoy building friendships, generating new ideas, and collaborating outside of the classroom.

Academic Support and Disability Services

Tianjin Juilliard students work directly with Juilliard’s Office of Academic Support and Disability Services (OASDS) to access focused services for students with disabilities and students typically underrepresented in higher education.

Counseling

Tianjin Juilliard’s Counseling Services provides free supportive counseling, psychotherapy and outreach programming to assist students in meeting their emotional, psychological, and mental health needs. Counseling Services also offers general health and wellness workshops to the student community.

Assessment and Care Team (A.C.T.)

Assessment and Care Team (A.C.T.) is a multidisciplinary team of administrators and faculty who assess the need for early supportive intervention and guidance for distressed or struggling students. A.C.T. serves as a centralized community resource and point of contact for all students, faculty, and administrators who may consider contacting A.C.T. to make a referral.

Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB)

Tianjin Juilliard is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for all members of the community inclusive of race, ethnicity, national origin, culture, language, gender and gender expression, sexuality, religious and political beliefs, age, and ability. The School stands against all forms of discrimination, whether directed against individuals or groups. Refunds

A student whose tuition payments and scholarship exceed the amount due will receive a refund. Refunds are available during the eighth week of the fall semester and are generally available the eighth week of the spring semester. Refunds will not be issued until all funding has been received by Tianjin Juilliard and credited to the student’s account.

The official date of withdrawal will be the day the Office of Academic Affairs is notified or the last day of attendance in any educationally related activity (including participation in performances), whichever is later.

For withdrawals that occur after the semester has begun reimbursement may be required.

If written notice of withdrawal is received by the Office of Academic Affairs before the first day of classes of either semester, the student has no responsibility for the semester’s tuition or housing charges. Students who withdraw during either semester are liable for a portion up to 100 percent of that semester’s tuition and housing charges, depending on the date of withdrawal, as follows:

Within the first week:10%
Within the second week:25%
Within the third week:50%
Within the fourth week:75%
After the fourth week:100%

Please note that residence hall refunds for students who withdraw from the School will follow the guidelines set forth in the residence hall contract.

Should a student be dismissed, the same policy of tuition responsibility will apply.
